‘Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn.’
I have 40 years of teaching behind me and my love of English and Literature is undiminished.
During my career I have taught at Key Stages 3, 4 and 5 and have also experience in IB English Language and Literature.
I have taught in both the State and Independent Sectors and decided to be adventurous and teach abroad; 3 years at the British International School of Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, proved to be a rewarding and enlightening experience.
I am a Senior Examiner for one of the main examination boards marking IGCSE Literature papers twice a year; this has given me valuable insight into how students can succeed and prepare for these examinations.
Having seen my 3 adult daughters through their educations I have understanding and empathy for both students and their parents.
I am looking forward to meeting and working with new students so that they feel confident and ready for the challenges they face.
