What are the best private schools in London?

What is considered ‘best’ for one child and their family is not always ‘best’ for your child and family. There are many factors to take into account and many excellent schools in London.

How do I become a tutor?

We are keen to hear from any outstanding teachers who would like to join this amazing Tutor Team. 

We are especially looking for professionals that can teach English and Maths to A Level and IB Level, on weekday evenings and at weekends, as well as those who can assist during the holidays to run our various courses. 

We will shortly be looking to expand our subject range so CONTACT US  if you would like to know more about being part of the team.

We are specifically looking for tutors who:-

  • are qualified teachers
  • have a passion for their subject(s)
  • are engaging and creative
  • are organised and reliable
  • have a desire to change children’s lives

You will need to submit a CV and covering letter, detailing your teaching experience, qualifications, subject specialisms and age range, along with suitable references. Those invited to interview will be asked to prepare a lesson which will be observed by members of our team.

Do I have to sign a long term contract?

There are no commitments to long contracts for any parents/guardians as our tuition is available for as many sessions as you would prefer and the tutors will offer expertise on the course length in order to achieve your agreed goals for your child.

What is your tutor selection process?

There is a stringent process that all of the Tutor Team have undertaken to enable us to ensure that we only provide tutors of the highest calibre. We personally interview every tutor and we only accept the highest quality teachers into the tutor team. All of the tutors are DBS checked by Cicero to ensure the safety of every child through only appointing those that have been appropriately vetted.

What are your processes for safeguarding?

All of the staff are DBS checked, as well as trained annually to guarantee that they are up-to-date with current safeguarding practices, to ensure the safety of our students.

Who pays for the teaching and learning resources?

The tutor is responsible for providing all necessary equipment and materials in order to deliver first class tuition to all of their students.

How long does it take to appoint a tutor for my child?

We aim to confirm the tutor, and an agreed session time for the tuition, within 48 hours. If there are no tutors currently available for your specific subject/level we will inform you immediately and will put you on a waiting list for the next available tutor.

What support does Cicero offer?

We care about every student’s learning and want to ensure that you receive the best service possible. Our Office Team are always here to help with any queries you might have, to ensure that you have a professional experience and satisfy your learning requirements.

How will you make my child feel comfortable?

The tutors are friendly and approachable, and they work really hard to build the confidence of every child by creating a supportive, friendly atmosphere.

All of the tutors are experienced teachers who are used to working with children individually or in small groups and know how to get the best out of each child.

What is the maximum class size for the holiday courses?

All of our academic courses normally consist of up to 5 or 6 students. All our experience shows that small groups create the right balance between discussion and independent learning and practice – with tutors able to individually assist the students.

The extra-curricular courses may have more than 6 students, if appropriate to the activity.
