About

Jim Castle

The Founder and Principal, Jim Castle, has over thirty years’ experience of working within independent schools, including 12 years of leadership roles within the sector.

Jim’s career has included working within several roles from being Head of Maths at  Downsend School in Surrey and Deputy Head, and Acting Head, of the Prep School at Ardingly College in West Sussex.

MA in Education leadership and change management, BEd specialising in mathematics and physical education.

Jim has a passion for teaching, and enabling children to thrive as individuals who realise their potential during their school years. As a maths teacher, he believes it to be a subject that should never be feared but embraced and enjoyed once the fear has been overcome.

He loves most sports, especially cricket. Jim has coached school cricket first teams throughout his teaching career and enjoys watching Surrey whenever he can. A keen Leicester Tigers follower and as a lifelong West Ham fan, Jim understands the need for a great sense of humour!

Jim’s other passion is music (especially 80s rock music) and he is constantly singing along, badly no doubt, in his car.
